Compatibility Guide
Every BrewCraft machine uses a 58mm portafilter, so tampers, baskets, screens, and portafilters are interchangeable across the range by size. The differences come down to which grinder makes sense and which accessories a machine's design supports.
Machine matrix
| Machine | Recommended grinders | Notable accessories |
|---|---|---|
| Pico $249 | Hand, Compact | Ships pressurized baskets; no non-pressurized upgrade |
| Solo $349 | Compact, Vortex | Precision Basket, Bottomless Portafilter, Cleaning Tablets |
| Flux $549 | Vortex, Precision | Precision Basket, Bottomless Portafilter, Cleaning Tablets |
| Duo $649 | Precision, Vortex | Precision Basket, Bottomless Portafilter, Cleaning Tablets |
| Lever $799 | Precision | Precision Basket, Bottomless Portafilter |
Grinder rules
- The Compact electric conical works with every machine and is the safe default.
- The Precision flat 83mm flagship is best on the Duo, Flux, and Lever, where the fine grind control is worth it. It is overkill for the Pico and Solo.
- The Hand is a low-cost entry match for the Pico.
See the grinder buying guide and machine buying guide for the reasoning.
Baskets and portafilters
The Precision Basket and Bottomless Portafilter fit the non-pressurized 58mm machines: Solo, Flux, Duo, and Lever. The Pico ships pressurized baskets and is not intended for non-pressurized upgrades.
Backflushing and cleaning
Only machines with a three-way solenoid valve can be backflushed: the Solo, Flux, and Duo. The Cleaning Tablets are for those machines. The Pico and Lever are not backflushable. See backflushing.
Works with anything
The WDT Tool, Knock Box, Puck Screen, 58mm Tamper, Brew Scale, and Water Hardness Test Kit are compatible with every setup.
