Getting Started With BrewCraft
Welcome to BrewCraft. We sell espresso machines, grinders, and the accessories that tie them together. If you are new to espresso, this page orients you before you buy.
What a first setup needs
A complete first setup is three things:
- A machine to brew the shot.
- A grinder to grind fresh beans for it.
- A tamper to compress the puck evenly.
Add an espresso brew scale as soon as you can. Weighing your dose and yield is the single biggest step toward repeatable shots.
The grinder matters as much as the machine
Beginners often overspend on the machine and pair it with a cheap grinder. Grind quality and freshness shape extraction more than most machine features do. Split your budget deliberately. Read both guides before deciding:
A solid starter combo
If you want a recommendation, the Solo ($349, single boiler with PID) paired with the Compact ($219, electric conical) and the 58mm Tamper ($39) is a balanced, affordable start. The Compact pairs with every BrewCraft machine, so it grows with you.
For a look at how the machines differ, see machine types.
Then learn the fundamentals
Gear is only half of it. Once your setup arrives, work through:
- Espresso fundamentals - dose, ratio, and time.
- Dialing in - adjusting the grind to taste.
- Puck prep - distribution and tamping.
Shopping with the assistant
Our assistant can search the catalog, answer questions about the gear, and add items to your cart for you. Ask it things like "which grinder fits the Flux?" or "add a tamper and a scale."
When you are ready, check compatibility to confirm everything works together.
